Jamie’s House

Jamie’s House is a 10 room shelter for survivors fleeing domestic violence. Rosaria’s Wing (in honor of Rosaria Haugland) is entirely ADA compliant and provides access to 4 bedrooms, a fully accessible bathroom, the kitchen, laundry and back yard. All the rooms, including the five in Julie’s Wing (in memory of Julie Collis), are different sizes with single and bunk beds. Each room has a small refrigerator, lock box for valuables, a Roku TV, and items provided through the adopt the room program. Each survivor receives a laundry basket filled with items to accommodate the size of the household.

GIFTS OF NEEDED ITEMS - WISHLIST

Hope & Safety Alliance welcomes the donation of new and/or gently used and clean items to support survivors. The Crisis and Support Center maintains a regular supply of household items and clothing to give to survivors in transition. Jamie’s House shelters multiple adults and children and donations help provide household necessities and clothing. Please click HERE for updated list of specific items needed.

Donated items can be delivered on to our office at 1577 Pearl St 2nd Floor. Please call our front desk at 541-485-8232 to schedule an appointment.

Due to limited storage space, we may not be able to accept donations of used clothes, Goodwill has agreed to accept clothing donations on behalf of Hope & Safety Alliance and will provide vouchers and gift cards for survivors. This arrangement works well for survivors to select what they need from a larger selection.

LEGACY GIVING

With the amazing generosity and support of Rosaria Haugland, Womenspace, Inc. partnered with The Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) to create the Womenspace Endowment Fund. With OCF’s stewardship and long-term investment program, our endowment fund will be maintained in perpetuity to provide a stable stream of income that will support survivors of domestic violence well into the future.

With this partnership, you have the opportunity to designate a gift to this permanent fund to support the future of the Hope & Safety Alliance. We also offer our donors the option of creating a life income gift, often called a planned gift. OCF staff works with our staff and donors to create bequests, charitable remainder trusts (CRTs) and charitable gift annuities (CGAs). Assets remaining at the termination of the trust or gift annuity will be designated to a fund that will provide ongoing support for Hope & Safety Alliance.
